Where'd you go?
I got so used to being 'round you boy
I'm trying not to care, but where'd you go?
I'm doing my best to be sensible
I'm trying not to care.

Gwen Stefani - "Misery"

Since Luse had up and left, without telling her or anyone else where he went, Tasha had become rather despondent. She felt like he had up and abandoned her. That was something she was having a really hard time coming to terms with it. It wasn’t that he had left that bothered her so much, but not telling her where he was going, had broken her heart. He was her best friend and big brother all rolled into her one and she relied on him to just be here. Now, he was just gone. She felt like there was a huge hole in her world. She missed her Grumpy!

So, she did the only thing she could. She threw herself into her mage work and into her hobby and little else. This she could count on and if she got herself killed doing either one, well it could be called fate, you know, it was meant to be. Of course her Da would likely dispute that, but even he had been busy the last few weeks. At least she knew her Father would return and where he was, unlike Luse.

Considering the number of new vampires arriving in RhyDin city these days, it wasn’t hard to go hunting when the magic lessons stalled. Truth was, she was becoming bored with the various spells and potions and all the other whatnots and wherefores and formality that went along with it. Tasha becoming bored in the past would have sent the whole house into a tizzy, these days they just shrugged at her.

Stepping out of the portal that took her to Cisroe, she looked around with a glittering of silver-violet eyes and heaved a deep sigh. Only servants around. That seemed her luck lately. She hadn’t seen any of the DeAuster’s in weeks. It was weird really. She was barely out of her teens really, so with everyone doing their own thing she felt forgotten which of course made her moody as all hell. A sniff and she stalked off towards the front doors. She had actually put on leathers for this visit. Since most of the locals actually frowned at her ratty jeans. They even hated the clean ones too. Which was why Tasha made sure she looked like every other traveler that visited the coastal city.

She stopped at the palace and was actually barred from entering. She was furious, but it made little difference. They instead directed her to a small office a block down where she could make an appointment. AN APPOINTMENT?! To hell with that. Tasha would catch Lucius at home later. Maybe in the middle of the night or some time she’ll knock on his door.

She wasn’t going to stop and make an appointment. That was simply not going to happen. Her mood even worse now, she stomped past that office and headed towards the Great Library of Cisroe. They knew her there so she wasn’t likely going to have any trouble. She hoped anyway.

"Deaf folk hear the fairies
However soft their song;
'Tis we who lose the honey sound
Amid the clamor all around
That beats the whole day long."
~Rose Fyleman

It was the music that first caught her attention. It brought the grumpy elf to pause a moment with a faint tilting of her silvery blond head. She loved all sorts of music. Tasha listened to a variety all the time from back home and even occasionally the more modern stuff around the town. The melody that had caused her to pause however was unique. The tune was lively yet light and airy at the same time, and the urge to tap a foot or clap occurred. Something about it however felt different from what she was used to. Sure, some bands she knew used a sort of magic, like Horn Dance and Mock Avenue just to name a few. Thus with her interest piqued, Tasha paused on the grand, sweeping marble steps leading towards the Grand Library of Cisroe and headed downward instead.

A crowd had formed around the musicians at the base of the steps. The tune they played filled the air. Tasha’s mage site was catching a variety of motes woven into the song which instantly caught her attention. This sort of spell casting was certainly out of the ordinary and that made the small elf instantly curious.

Tasha prided herself on being well versed in the various forms of magic and sorcery. She might not have the ability or skill to use all of them, of course, but recognizing unusual uses of wizardry and such was one of her many interests. What she was hearing and seeing now, didn’t match up with her mental array of magical knowledge. This was something totally new to her.

She watched with interest, not fully immune to these enchantments, as she found herself tapping a toe or clapping along. Tasha even dropped some coins into the jar placed out on the ground in front of the musicians. But unlike many others, including many of the mages of the city of Cisroe, Tasha was fully aware that there was some unknown conjuring going on.

When they finished and started to pack up their instruments, she finally took a moment and approached. Not really one for subtly, Tasha asked what sort of magics they had been using.

The elven band denied any such thing, but there was a noticeable exchanging of looks. Of course she noticed and Tasha instantly dig in her heels, metaphorically speaking. “Look, I won’t go telling the City Guard you’re using enchantments. I am just curious about what kind of magic you’re using. That’s it.”

All were dressed as travelers with the sturdy leather’s most in this world favored, but this group had a bit of flair in the colors and the billowing sleeved shirts found mostly with bards. It was the tallest of the group that answered. He was obviously the leader and after a deep sigh he stared at the short elf. “We call it “Bohemian Magic”. It’s an ability gifted to us by the Goddess, Fenela. She seeks to bring art to the world of Carowyn.”

Tasha knew a bit about some pantheon’s of this world and realized that the reason she could “see” some of those magical motes was her own connection to the Ame Endroi. Even with that little mystery solved, it still didn’t ease her curiosity, only added to it. Old magics lost over time had a certain appeal to the young elf. “Can you teach this magic to others?”

“You wish to learn it?” The tall elf asked cocking an inquiring brow.
