While Isuelt had much on her mind as of late, she showed up representing the Scathachian Sisterhood. As always she was reluctant to let loose, or become too intertwined with the guests. Most people blamed her standoffish tendencies on an uppity personality, some people cited a subpar sense of relationships. For the most part, she kept her interactions brief because she was working. It wasn't unlike the worst of citizens in this city to take advantage of a gathering like this. And even when she had the 'night off' she was always watching out for her friends and the denizens of RhyDin.

Though it was exhausting to go through life waiting for the other proverbial shoe to drop, Isuelt stayed alert, spoke with the guests, and even indulged in a few drinks.

Of course Rand and Val would attend - it was a gala, and Jewell was the Empress Hostess with the Mostest, as well as being a dear friend. They weren't necessarily supporters of this Samuel Adder, but it simply would not do to miss such an event. Rand dressed in a simple yet elegant tuxedo, his job to be the handsome backdrop to his stunning wife, resplendent in her black and red dress. Together, they would mingle. Some time and money was spent at the gambling tables, but most of the night they danced or chatted with friends and strangers alike. While Val selected delicately from the available treats, Rand more than made up for it, making sure to sample each at least once.

During the course of the Gala, a fashionably late arrival appeared in the form of a sleek town car in glossy black. It had taken Ravyn a little cajoling (and a glimpse at what she was wearing for the evening) but she’d managed to convince Cranston that it was worth showing up and seeing what this Adder person had to say. Power deserved watching, after all.

The younger women in robes barely warranted a glance. Peons. It wasn’t until they’d entered, until they’d found the true movers and shakers, that the interest started to bloom. Drinks. Food. Window dressing, minor necessities. A few familiar faces, here and there...but not many. Then again, they weren’t well known in Rhy’din proper, choosing to keep to themselves. Over a year since they’d married, and it seems the honeymoon was hardly over.

Drinks in hand, they visited the tables, losing and winning in equal measure, before making their way over to the man of the hour. A congenial greeting, pressing the flesh. A faint narrowing of the eyes to the press of lips to knuckles. Cordial conversation about idle subjects.

After the tables had lost their draw, and the crowds their luster - or rather, when the desire for other, more private entertainments grew stronger than the amusements offered at the gala, the pair reclaimed their limo, and disappeared into the night.

A Couple of Dames.

Glamor was polished and honed upon the gracious ladies as they stepped out onto the roof of the Imperial Hotel. Gemethyst a curvaceous vixen of a vision in lambent scarlet, the mermaid dress was uncompromising in displaying her hourglass figure. Pharlen embraced the spirits to whom she Sang to, a raven painted boldly over her pale face, her black gown trailing mysteries over a dulcet form.

Pharlen collected undercurrents and whispers as she drifted through the party, arm in arm with the vibrant elfess with her inevitable nose for trouble. And yet, it was simply the quixotic albino with her penchant for bunny suits and the ever polite thief made good as they mingled, listening more than they spoke.

A pale morganite gaze lingered long over Jewell as the woman extolled the virtues of Mr. Adder, the lively eyes of vivid purple took in Faye's appearance, such a rarity. It all revolved around Adder, and Gemethyst followed the flow as if drawn.

At length, Pharlen smilingly introduced herself to Mallory. A kindly if kooky matron of the city, another long distance diva far removed from the press and flow of the streets.

"You helped my son, Desdenova, at the meteor shower. I appreciate that, he can be an impulsive child," she murmured, absently handing Mallory a business card. "If there is anything I can do for you, give me a call."

Pharlen VonTombs. CNUL 345. A phone number. Black ink on high quality white stock.

"Let's dance, dearling, we haven't made any trouble yet tonight," Gemethyst crooned to Pharlen with a wicked twinkle to her eye.

And what could be troublesome about that?

Arya wasn't one for fancy things but curiosity got the best of her. There was nobody in her company but she was dressed to the nines. Bright smiles and cheerful greets were given as she made her way through the crowd, taking in the sights and stopping to have a few words with those she knew.

As an event in which everyone who is anyone allegedly was invited to, of course the self-professed Deity of the Digital Age had to be there. Keane arrived via lightning bolt striking down on a rod atop the tower. He made quite an entrance, all flash and bang. He even dressed the part in a plain black tuxedo with a crisp and clean bow tie. A full toothy smile decorated his face the entire time. All his chips at the gambling tables were charged to credit cards, and anything electronic he certainly cheated at. Most of his winnings he tossed charitably to anyone looking down on their luck, though. He shook hands with anyone who crossed his path and introduced himself only as Keane, giving a wink that suggested one should absolutely know who and what he was. Whether or not anyone did was unimportant, and lack of recognition did not at all seem to faze him. He definitely gave off a literal charge that may have manifested as a static jolt or joy buzzer like sting. The intensity of each shock was entirely random. He drank liberally but never seemed inebriated. Full of laughter and friendliness, he cavorted and cajoled the night away, eventually taking his leave via crackling and zapping his way up a power line and away.

Lucy arrived at the Red & Black Gala accompanied by Isaac Wheeler. Lucy paused at the hooded red women for mere seconds before moving around them and into the affair. She did, however, glance over her shoulder once more before stepping inside.

Despite the encouragement to mix and mingle, Lucy spent much of the event sitting and talking with Isaac enjoying a few glasses of champagne. She had little interest in gambling this evening, but she offered to play along with Isaac should he be interested. To the careful observer, her body language did not suggest intimacy, rather it appeared more like a first date.

Eventually she mingled, making an effort to seek out Jewell to thank her for the invitation. She did not seek out Samuel Adder, the candidate, but she did not resist introduction if it was made. She also made sure to say hello to other faces she recognize who wandered near. And of course she introduced Isaac to everyone she spoke with.

After no more than two hours had passed, she suggested to Isaac that they make their departure to find a bite to eat somewhere.

Fashionably late, though in such exquisite company it causes him little distress. Cris boasts nothing in the realm of political interest, and elects only to observe the gamblers from a respective distance, leaving the reason for his attendance at all up for speculation. He refuses food and drink, but not the pleasure of polite conversation, and will not depart without a brief dance from Jewell, without greeting Lucy and her companion for the evening, and certainly not without, at least, speaking to Gemethyst if not imparting upon the petite elfess a warm, heartfelt embrace.

There is something awoken in Shae's golden eyes as she arrives with her dashing escort, something alert and predatory. That doesn't stop a warm smile from softening the harsher light when she encounters familiar faces, but it does grant a more primal aspect to all that crimson. Questions about the evening's host are rare, though where voiced they are carefully probing, filling hands with refreshed drinks to coax loosened tongues to volunteer more than she explicitly asks to know about the candidate. A partially full drink can be seen in her grasp when she's not taking a turn on the dance floor, though its volume never decreases far enough to invite a refill on her behalf. The gambling tables present a lure of entertainment when she must surrender her favored dance partner to the arms of another. Oddly, luck seems to shift in the wake of her passing smirk.

This carrion, this black spot of vicious glamour, arrived further into the night; she owned this hour due to her pedigree and made sure to ignite the air with her chilling waltz that was half a primordial stalk and half true-blue vanity. Her dress spoke almost as loud about the depth of her narcissism as the cruel red her mouth was painted in.

A night like this was a rare glimpse of just who the real wolves in sheep's clothing were, however, there was no white wool in sight and instead a sea of scarlet letters with their well tailored men choked in bow ties.

Politics seemed to be a hot topic of the evening but the shade of cool that was the birdborne kept most opinions to herself, instead greedily devouring the snippets of conversation she clashed with. And the main spectacle that was elected as the center of most peoples attention, Samuel Adder, was casually cornered in her eyes alone. His reflection drowned just like the rest through an oil slick of attention.

Scotch lipped and smelling of nightshade, she introduced herself to any that inquired while making good on a quiet promise to drink until those around her became more interesting.

Isaac gave a glance up at the hotel as he walked alongside Lucy Mitford, the slow rolling thunderstorm gray of his eyes taking in the sight of the red cloaked women.  A narrowing of that steel gray gaze as a protective hand instinctively fell to small of Lucy’s back when she moved around them and looked back over her shoulder.  Politeness dictated that certain words remained unspoken when he accept the offered leather booklet; personal disinterest in politics and the machinations of those drawn to such roles ensuring he set it aside a few moments later.

As the knife-thrower took in his surroundings he got the feeling he'd exchanged one carnvial for another and while Lucy's gracious introductions were met with a reserved and quiet gentility, it was the Socialite alone who got that easy flowing dogwood drawl and expressive, daresay, charming smile.

Her offer of company at the gambling table was countered with an invitation to the dance floor where he'd draw on that cotillion and debutante experience his parents had foisted upon him as a younger man should she take him up on the offer. Admittedly that had been years ago so he might prove a bit rough around the edges and in dire need of some of the Socialite's polish.

Two hours proved to be about his upper limit for such crowded affairs and so it should come as no surprise that he readily agreed to a bite to eat upon her first suggestion.

With Hunt Energy's backing already behind another candidate, there was no vote to be won from Sadie. But still, the CEO showed up for a short while to the gala with her husband on her arm. She indulged in plenty of chocolate, stayed away from the alcohol, and begged (beg was hardly the right word) Sam to spin her around the dance floor a few times before they turned in early for the night.

Dressed in a sumptuous midnight black, Jezebel chose accessories of the richest sanguine hue to match the theme, but affixed them as far away from fire red hair as possible to avoid clashing. A cluster of garnets at her wrist, the tear drop of subtle rubies all but obscured in glossy strands. A simple clutch bag, elegant high heeled sandals. Beyond this subtle brush stroke of color, she wore a smile, her flickering amber eyes alight with catlike interest.

The woman moved easily among those assembled. She had kind words for friends and strangers alike, complimenting this dress, that tie, as fluid, unhurried grace carried her from one space to the next. For a time she paused to watch a particularly striking couple, a knowing grin painting bold red lips as she concluded, Ah, this must be Millicent, but Jezebel did not interrupt or introduce herself.

Thanking their hostess for the lovely soiree, she was introduced to the man of honor, and his platinum blonde seer besides. Jezebel would accept a rose only on the condition that it did not come with a fortune -- she would not see the beautiful girl bleed for her. If pressed, the redhead would merely roll one sinuous shoulder with a nonchalant what can I say, I like a little mystery.

She could be found chatting with various distinguished business owners from time to time, watching each with interest in her eyes and a smile that was not quite flirtatious. In the end it was hard to say when or with whom she'd left, only that she was gone.

-"I don't want to leave hi--"
-"He'll be fine for one night, Princess. We're going to give him something to sedate him, he'll be sleeping anyway. Go."
-"But why? For what purpose am I--"
-"You were invited. Would it not be rude not to attend? Besides, you never know who you will meet, how they might be of service."

Takara sighed. She frowned, her dark brows drawing together like thunderclouds, but ultimately she did not argue.

-"Fine. I will go. But I don't have anything suitable to wear."
-"We can get you a dress in the proper shade."
-"No. I will not spend the funds Eri has so graciously provided us on something so frivolous."
-"Ah, but you do still own something appropriate to your station, do you not?"
-"Well, yes, but..."
-"So wear it."
She sighed again. "Fine."

Takara arrived alone. A single flute of champagne was held between delicate fingers for most of the evening, the same glass carried dutifully from room to room. She did not gamble but she did watch the games with some interest, seeking to understand the rules, the players. Her smile, small and polite as befit her decorum, broke wider when she saw Cris -- the one person she seemed genuinely pleased to see, unless of course she also ran into Eri. She would spend some time chatting with the Shadowhunter and his stunning date, bobbing her head in deference when they were introduced.

It was, most likely, the most fun she had all evening. The only fun, in fact, she'd had in forever.

When the time came to introduce herself to the hostess, she was surprised to find that it was someone she'd met before. "Good evening, Ja--Jewell," she corrected herself quickly with a self conscious smile. "It is nice to see you again, and thank you for the invitation. This party is...unlike any I have ever seen." Her attentions turning to Mr. Adder, she had a few carefully worded questions for him regarding his positions on certain things, but the exchange was short and overall pleasant. Bidding them both farewell, the displaced feudal princess would depart as quietly as she'd come, stealing back through the night to her home.

She could only hope that no one had noticed her absence, that there had been no disruption. That Aiko had slept peacefully and not had one of his fits. She could only cross her fingers that her errant roommate and his girlfriend were either at her apartment tonight, or too wrapped up in one another to notice and wait for her.

He should not have even been allowed in. When stopped by the front door and asked for his invitation he repeated several times, "что?"

Every time he was asked, do you know Samuel Adder? His response was always, "нет."

They were truly baffled. He looked the part, well dressed and well groomed but he didn't speak a lick of English. He smoked the most expensive brand that they'd never seen and he held up the line long enough until they eventually just let him in with a detail.

He hated politicians, all of them. So much talk, so many hollow promises it made him sick and revolted just to step inside. Still, everyone was here and he'd help himself to a Liquid Cocaine and didn't take long to find where he'd make his mark on the night.

The Gambling tables had taken him in and refused to let him go. Акула they called him back at Baikonur, he made his presence known at the Poker table to much anguish of his fellow players. Throughout the night it was very likely there were many hands thrown, profanities shouted and quite a few close calls between his face and their fists. A natural at stealing chips and glances, he'd explain the game to any who came his way, give his number to any who'd ask and might just end up leaving and blowing those chips on any who'd wait long enough to see him clean it up.

It was likely if he came face to face with Samuel Adder that he'd want to kill him, as he would any politician. So he did his best to keep low and get dealt his winning hands.

Senka's understanding of politics in Rhydin was limited as was her actual interest in them. The fact that her boss was hosting the event did influence her decision to attend the gala.

Most of her time the last two months or so had been spent alone or with Phoenix. There had been changes, things she hadn't been willing to share that had influenced her desire to stay rather lowkey. Jewell's continued prompting to attend the event gave Senka the push she needed to step back into the public light so to speak.

It was late by the time Senka and Nix arrived thanks to the fact that Senka had to scrap her original dress and find something else at the last minute. Something backless. Tonight she would once again have wings, only this time they were a part of her and had nothing to do with being a glamor or gift from Jewell. Unfortunately in the weeks since they had blossomed she had not learned to control them very well. There were times she couldn't get them to go away and tonight was one such night.

The wings were varying shades of fire red to deep maroon. Purples, burnt oranges, blues, and greens were also found within the feathers, especially near their tips where they rounded and held an eye like peacock feathers. The very center of each eye had a ring of gold that bled into the center and seemed to be aglow from within, giving off a soft light like a candle. The wings were folded down and cascaded down her back like a train. Some longer feathers trailed to the ground like an actual peacock. The glow wasn't contained to only the feathers but also in her seafoam colored eyes that were warm and bright and her skin that seemed to be kissed with light. Each time she laughed or wore a smile of genuine happiness, the glow seemed to intensify. At times the feathers gave off a halo of light around her.

She stayed on the outskirts of the party for the most part, to avoid having her feathers being stepped on, touched, or tugged. A few dances and drinks were enjoyed with Phoenix and she greeted the few people she knew when their paths crossed. Even though their arrival was late, they did not stay until the very end.

After receiving invitation to the event of this year’s election, he found it to be a prime opportunity on multiple levels.

He’d driven him and his date to the Gala himself, this time in his cherry red 2016 Aston Martin Vanquish that seemed all too fitting for the Red & Black themed party. Dressed to kill, arm in arm with a stunning date, whom he’d likely spent far too much money on both of their wardrobes and necessary accessories, he’d escorted Orchid to the front door where he’d stated himself and his Plus One present before they were allowed inside.

The party itself was decorated superbly, speculated and admired by himself and his date. Of course, the first stop was to the bar - with plenty of dazzling smiles shot from himself, handshakes to strangers and those he knew, a few words spared of pleasant talk before he had to pull the rambling hot mess of a woman away, else they’d never get their drinks! He may have indulged in more than one Liquid Cocaines, and splurged on anything she wanted herself - be it drinks and sweets.

It wasn’t long before the man was staring down the gambling tables, particularly those holding Poker or Texas Hold ‘Em. After a few small persuasions, flirtatious comments of her being his Lucky Charm for the evening, he’d drawn the small woman toward the tables and may have muttered something on more than one occasion about her rubbing off that good luck on him. Well behavior was relative, and he somehow managed to keep it respectable - at least under the eyes of others watching.

There had been a moment when a friend of Orchid approached her to say hello, someone he didn’t know but introduced himself to with a smile before a stunning flash of red in the corner of his eye caught his attention. Orchid seemed to be chatting the poor boy’s ear off and he placed a hand on her shoulder, promised to return momentarily, and slipped away from the two to say hello to a friend of his own. The shared smile was all too intimate, yet somehow reserved for public speculation, and a dazzling touch of secret memories as he caught up with Tahlia. A touch, as brief as it was to her lower back before something only the two would know was muttered into her ear, a few spared words for others to overhear that was likely much more appropriate, if not flirty, before he promised to ‘catch up’ with her soon, pecking a kiss to her cheek and gave her a departing oil-slick smile as he returned to his date as promised.

Back in the game, with the chatterbox at his side, the man of the hour and the hostess was approached, hands shaken with Samuel as well as an introduction made as he indulged in a few questions himself. "What do you plan to do with the city’s communications opportunities and prospering businesses?" He handed the man a business card, the ever-present businessman that he was with a smile for him. ”If you have any interest in cross-verse communications, do let me know, Mr. Adder. Thank you for your time.”

The hostess herself was given a number of tasteful compliments, from her dress to the party itself, and assurance of their good time as he thanked her for her efforts and time spent establishing the party. A business card was handed to her as well, with a slick smile and an inquiry if she was able to be hired perhaps for organizing other events. If Orchid had any questions or anything to say (he was positive she would, and if not, he’d be absolutely shocked!) before leaving Jewell and Samuel to their other guests.

With formalities out of the way, there were more drinks to be shared, perhaps even a few dances to be had, and maaaaybe a bit too much betting at the gambling tables - at least until Orchid had to put her tiny foot down and tore him away before Ada threw a fit of him emptying his bank accounts with gambling funds….

He managed to send one lone text before leaving the party, the same way they’d come - though perhaps with a pitstop in the elevator for ‘vice’ sake…

[Collaboration and evaluation by Orchid Evans and Tahlia!]

Her and Malcolm had spent quite a few days together in preparation for the event. There was the day he asked her, and that was an all-nighter. Then there was the day that they bought the clothing and accessories, and that was a bit of a close call. He liked her dress, perhaps a bit too much which led to a dressing room fiasco and a near ban from the store. Thank goodness for Malcolm’s money, though. They both left with what they needed, and perhaps a bit more.

Also, she spent a while learning to walk—and breaking—in those heels.

She might’ve enlisted the help of a certain vampiress to dull her up for the night, and ended up feeling pretty satisfied with herself as she took to the night with her date. Probably making several jokes about how he cleaned up well; which was amusing since he always seemed to look good. Then again, when it came to Orchid—who didn’t?

When Isaac was spotted, she’d about lost her mind. Just chatting him up about everything under the sun. Topics included: Murder mystery parties, his dog, a debate over Coke and Pepsi, the series finale of The Office, and who would win in a fight, Chuck Norris or a horde of 28 Days Later zombies. She hadn’t even really seemed to notice Malcolm walking off, aside from a brief nod of acknowledgement. Finally, she did pry herself away from the man to reunite with her date after a promise of meeting up with him later for an adventure. Though it may have seemed more suggestive than it was, or maybe not.

Orchid had been happy to be his good luck charm for the night, but the time did come where she had to put her heeled foot down. Though she was all for him draining his bank account in the name of a good time, she had made a promise to both the man’s assistant, and Millie to keep him from going overboard. She did promise him a reward, though. (It may have come up during the pit stop.)

Having smoked a special herb made by Daphne Winters beforehand, she’d been able to enjoy the sweet treats available; and though her drinks were a bit more mixed than others, she did enjoy quite a few Sinner’s Delights, and Bloody Torture (if only out of irony.)

Orchid had probably chatted that poor hostess’, (and quite a few others) ears off before it was time to go. She’d pretty much followed Malcolm’s lead on everything, taking the time out to charm the pants off (not literally!) many people—but then she’d headed back with Malcolm eager to get back in that car. She might’ve even pushed her luck to see if he’d let her drive that beautiful car, since they matched.

Playing the part of the ever deferential diplomat, Evia attended the gala solo. The rooftop locale made for a breathtaking view of the city and in fact, she was certain she could see the Jeshurun Gated Community from the party's perch. The Hobnob cocktail was much too pretty to decline and so she was found with one in hand through a fair portion of the evening while mingling with the so called Who's Who of Rhydin. The draw of the gambling tables proved too great and so she spent much of the night at a Texas Hold'em table until she was finally nudged away by the suspicious looks that came when she won just a few too many times in a row to be pure coincidence. Late in the gala, the ringing of her phone finally called her away with little more than an apologetic smile for those she was near before disappearing into a heavily tinted black sedan outside of the hotel.

Meadow arrived at the upscale party on the hotel's rooftop at the request of her father, or more accurately, at the request of her father's manager. Something about cleaning up her image and smoothing over the most recent flurry of tabloid speculation pieces. Something about community outreach. Something about representing her father's interests since he couldn't be there himself.

Whatever. She'd ultimately given in and agreed for two reasons. An excuse to buy a pretty new dress, and free champagne.

She stayed on theme, choosing a form fitting one shouldered mini dress in a red and black pattern inspired by zebra stripes. It was trimmed in thick black lines and accented with gold eyelet rings, giving the impression that the bold printed garment had actually been tied into place across her body. It was appropriately tasteful but with a glam edge that pleased her. She looked good in it and she knew it.

Meadow mingled for a time, making polite conversation where necessary. The setting was exquisite, the provided refreshments delectable. The free champagne was plentiful, and the attendants were on top of their game in keeping her glass filled and sparkling. She knew next to no one present, and that in itself was refreshing, along with the utter absence paparazzi or lookie-loos trying to gate crash the event. These features of her new home town were still novel and charming -- the freedom with which the city's rich and powerful moved, largely unmolested. She moved among them freely, enjoying the heady rush of being alone and anonymous.

It couldn't last. A particularly forward business man who had perhaps overindulged in the evening's special cocktails seemed singularly focused on pressing his interest with her, a fly she couldn't shake or swat away. The girl was beginning to become a bit desperate for escape or diversion--where are those stupid photographers when you actually need them?! when she claimed to have spotted an old friend out by the roof's edge and hurried in that direction.

The handsome stranger willingly played along, wrapping her up in a warm hug and chiding her for her long absence from his life. He was easy on the eyes and quick with his wit, and they spent the rest of the evening in one another's company. Seems there was more to this party than pretty clothes and free booze after all...

Tahlia hadn’t been back in town for very long - less than a week. But someone had made certain she’d gotten an invite to what was rumored to be the event of this election season. She wasn’t used to going to such things without an escort, but on such short notice, it seemed her usual companions were either busy, or had found other adornments. She’d taken a little out of the latest payout, and rented a chauffeur and town car. The dress, the jewels...those she’d already had. After all, the point of these events was to see, and be seen.

She swept past the protesters without a thought - she’d had just enough of rules and ‘shouldn’t’s’, enough of sitting quietly and smiling sweet smiles. She’d had enough of virtue...tonight she planned to indulge in a little vice. Emerging onto the roof, she scanned the crowd for familiar faces, nodding here and there when she saw one. It didn’t take but a moment for her to find a drink - before the night was through she’d work her way through all of them, but the Sinners Delight was her favorite. She’d nibble on chocolate and cheese, working her way around the room and chancing a few coins at the tables. Truthfully, she wasn’t looking for anything in particular, content for the moment to make new friends, and enjoy herself. There was even some dancing.

She made certain to give Jewell a friendly nod when she saw her, and to introduce herself to the candidate. One never knew, after all. And, of course, there was the pleasant surprise of running into Malcolm. The tall tech mogul had her entire attention for their brief, if warm exchange. His hand at her back, hers toying idly with the with the lapel of his tux, the subtle bend of lips to ear brought a subtle smile, and a brief nod. Returning the kiss to his cheek, she let him go with a whispered assurance that she’d be more than happy to catch up whenever he was available, and moved back into the crowd, dancing and drinking into the wee hours before finally heading home.

Millicent had procured a hobnob if only for the colour of it. She turned it in her alabaster hands and remarked upon the red. So much red. She offered some to Sinon if only to watch him, his mouth. While doing this, she noticed a long glance from a fiery woman. More red. She tilted her head, canting her features in question. Eventually she raised a brow at Sinon who would have to pivot to be able to see the woman himself but this was clearly what Millicent was imploring him to do. There were many glances to share this evening, many to cast of her own accord, but for some reason this stood out to her.

Whatever his response, she would contentedly lead him to the poker tables. She did not know how to play, and she would make light discourse with the gaggle of people there to inquire about the rules. Though, one, apparently, did not speak English. She would begin these conversations, even if Sinon knew the rules, which she was almost sure he did. And this was because, for the most part, they had been rather aloof. Quite predisposed. A bit much. And though that was precisely what she intended to be with Sinon tonight, she used this opportunity to venture out. At least once.

And, when Meadow was near by, she rose her voice to get her attention. "Meadow! Dear. Please." Please join us.

The blasé young adult came to the Gala, upon his father's demanding request and possible threats to 'cut him off'. The claim of sending Isaac to the campaigning event was under the representation of the Clark name, of which Jonathon Clark prided himself so strongly in keeping up appearances. Jon couldn't make it, with his adamant promise that he would be out of town that evening - or in Isaac's eyes, so conveniently - that he couldn't help believe that it was a test of some sort.

Thus, he arrived, driven by one of his father's suit-clad drones and by himself. As unkempt as the wild curly mane of sunkissed locks appeared, the suit he wore spoke of money and high class, and numerous trust funds. He absolutely hated it. However, he fit in with the rest of the 'Stiffs' as he claimed, with the theme matching black suit, white button up shirt with subtle pinstripe the shade of cherries and a black silk tie embroidered finely with silky cherry thread.

His I don't wanna be here, I was forced against my will attitude was abandoned as he slapped on a fake, charming yet dangerous smile as he played Proper and High Class Stiff. He shook hands with strangers that seemed important, answered irrevocably dull questions of what he thought about the politics and campaigns, who he was going to vote for, his interests in the Adder campaign. It was a cycle of answers after about the fourth hand he'd shaken. By the fifth, he was speaking in clipped, to-the-point sentences before making an excuse to leave and while he avoided the gambling tables, he found himself a server who didn't seem to mind him taking a shot at each of the drinks to see which he liked best. The Sinner's Delight seemed to meet his quota, and he stuck with it.

Doing as his father said, he'd meandered over to the Stiff of the Hour himself, and the hostess, flashing his most charmingly dangerous smile and shaking their hands. He introduced himself, telling him that he came in Jon's place and apologized that he couldn't make it himself, though he absolutely wanted to be here. He didn't have many questions to ask of the campaigning man, but he did wish him the best of luck in the elections, and thanked Jewell for the party - particularly the liquor he raised in his hand before excusing himself.

Finally, a break from grinding his teeth to dust and bludgeoning his liver with the assault from liquor, he was spotted by Orchid and distracted for a moment. "It's good to see you wearing red, and not from getting hit by a car this time... Yes, she's doing fine. Thanks for asking." The jumble of questions fired at him like a fully-automatic was still refreshing from the questions of politics and Adult-ing things. It depends. Murder mystery parties... is the murder for real, or is it game like Clue? You never know in this friggin' city!... My dog still trumps your puppy dog look - stop looking at me like that! You can't match it!... Coke, no question. If I'm going to suck sweetened caramel through a bottle, I'd rather it be something that can also clean the rust of metal, thanks.... It sucked... Why are you even asking me this? CHUCK NO--no, wait. Maybe.. Lemme think on it... He'd only really spared a second of attention to shake Malcolm's hand, mutter his name before the man was leaving him to try to keep up with the girl's spouting mouth. The promise for another adventure earned a grin, and a promise to text her soon before they wandered in different directions, only to be swept up in the hub-ub of the party again.

Moments he enjoyed himself, moments he didn't. And when the atmosphere got to be a little too much for him, he took a step back and enjoyed the view at the roof's edge to afford himself a moment of quiet. At least until he was suddenly a scapegoat for another who seemed to fit into the same shoes of Unwilling Attendance. Though, the killer dress and endearing embrace in the name of fake long-term friendship was a grand distraction from the reasons for being here and afforded him to relax and enjoy himself as they spent the rest of the night in each other's company and enveloped themselves in conversations that had to do with anything but politics. Even if she was a Liquor Thief...
