Do I have to use this feature?

No. This is an add-on module purely for the enjoyment of players that want somewhere to spend the silver crowns that can be earned in various ways here at DM. Like many of the forum add-on's, they can be used entirely for fun or you may wish to reference them or work them in to your IC role-play.
