Placed on the public notice board in the City Hall, newspapers, and other media was the following press release:

As discussed at the Town Meeting with the Governor, last month, a project is in development to provide a home, educational and job resources for the displaced youth of Rhydin, between the ages of 14-21 years. The structure, hereafter known as Sarengrave House, is located in Battlefield Park. The exterior of the building is completed and work on the apartments is in progress.

Sub-basement level has apartments for that are light sensitive as well as several reinforced containment areas for those learning to cope with their were abilities. Basement level houses a pool as well as exercise and game rooms. Maximum capacity is eight apartments per above ground level. The ground floor is reserved for four shops to help provide work experience for the residents.

Sarengrave House has been named in memory of Lirssa Redbane Sarengrave al-Amat, who passed away earlier this year. Through High Spires House and the Kids of Summer Foundation, Lirssa dedicated a great deal of her time and energy to aid the young people of Rhydin.

Any citizens willing to help with the job training aspect of this project is asked to contact Governor MacLeod-Fenner at her office. More details are to be released in the future. Sarengrave House is expected to open in June of this year.

Within a day of the Sarengrave House press release, the following letter was delivered to the Governor's office.

Governor of RhyDin

Dear Governor,

You may recall that I had mentioned, at the town meeting on the 23rd, that I was speaking on behalf of several shop owners regarding partnership with the Sarengrave House project. We have since discussed it among ourselves, and support remains steadfast. Admittedly there were some concerns about competition, but in a city so diverse as ours, there are more varieties of personal taste and standards than any sane mind could comfortably conceive.

I did have one personal suggestion regarding one of the storefronts. There should be a place for any of the resident youths with an artistic mind to provide items for consignment or commission. By this I mean small, handmade works that one create alone, such as paintings, needlework, or even bonsai such as I've seen around Kabuki Street. Home crafts--that would even be a fine name for such a shop: Homecrafts at Sarengrave House.

Speaking as a craftsman myself, there is nothing quite like the satisfaction of using one's creativity to help beautify the life of another. I heartily recommend that the young people who come to Sarengrave House be given such an opportunity.

Yours respectfully,

Governor MacLeod-Fenner,

After the recent Town Hall meeting and your subsequent press release, I'm writing today to offer the cooperation of both the Sassy Owl Saloon and Hangman Distillery for your youth job training program for Sarengrave House. We currently participate in similar vocational training via the Farron-Queen Youth Centre and offer paid positions in both food service and culinary arts. While both the Sassy Owl and the Hangman Taproom welcome employees as young as 16, to work in the Distillery itself, we require trainees be at least 18. Aside from that, we look forward to any additional inquiries you may have regarding our inclusion in this program.

Sincerely,
Casey Malachi

A letter was deliver to the Shining Star Glassworks by courier:

Dear Mr. Whitemane,

I am pleased to hear that the response from your group has been positive. With so many craftsmen and artisans willing to take part in the program, it will allow our young people to try their hand at several things before deciding on a particular focus.

Your idea for one of the storefronts to used be for selling handcrafted items is an excellent one. Some other ideas being considered are a floral shop and a snack bar/small restaurant. A floral shop might be a better place for things like the bonsai trees you mentioned.

As someone that has spent many years honing my skills in the needlearts, I understand that feeling of satisfaction from seeing the results of one’s own creations. Your letter has inspired me to see about incorporating some sort of studio into Sarengrave House and/or setting up a direct transportation route to the observatory and botanical garden. Among other things, there is a well supplied arts and crafts studio there.

I look forward to working with you and your fellow craftmansmen.

Sincerely,
Colleen MacLeod-Fenner
Governor of Rhydin

A response was sent by courier to the manager’s office at the Sassy Owl Saloon.

Casey Malachi
General Manager
Sassy Owl Saloon & Hangman Distillery

Dear Ms. Malachi,

I am pleased to accept your offer to assist in this program and look forward to working with you. The target age group is between 14 and 21 years old; your requirements fit within it. Transportation of some kind will be arranged for those you choose to hire or have in a vocational program. While no curfew is planned for those that have reached or passed their 18th birthday, safety is a prime concern of mine.

As was noted in the press release, there are spaces on the ground floor level that have been reserved for shops. One of the shops will be related to food service; an eat in snack shop of some kind. Would you be interested in training people to properly operate such an establishment? Basic math and bookkeeping skills will be a part of the educational program as it will be helpful in most jobs.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Sincerely,

Colleen MacLeod-Fenner
Governor of Rhydin

The day after Troshen's letter was received, a reply was sent to Fiddler's Green via courier.

Dear Mr. Kell,

I'm pleased to hear from you. As an avid horsewoman, I look forward to seeing your ideas for a Horsemanship training program. Working with horses and other animals is well known to be therapeutic. Grooms and farriers are needed on farms and ranches in the city's outlying lands. I am curious to know more about your Mechanics shop and boarding house facilities.

Sincerely,

Colleen MacLeod-Fenner
Governor of Rhydin
