Wyheree stood before the looking glass in the stateroom, plaiting another narrow braid in her icy hair, coaxing the strands to bend around the sapphie ribbon Sid's mate Scottie had allowed her to take from his coat. No matter how hot it was, the ribbon always stayed cool to the touch - like it was meant for her. She threaded more of the blue and silver beads James had worked in her hair on the new braid to secure it at the top and bottom, then set the little dragon ice charm Brian had returned to her to dangle near the top of the braid.

Brian had returned the ice charm to her, saying he did not want her to be over-burdened during his journey to Appleburg with Kairee, and Wyh had promised to keep it safe for him. Just before he left, Brian asked to speak with her one last time, and they stepped into the Hall for a private word. To her amazement, he asked if she would take the Ravenlock name as her own, becoming his and Jewell's sister in name as well as in heart. No thought was needed - there was no hesitation, for Wyh always saw Brian as her soul brother from the moment they met, and the same was true of Jewell - they were sisters in their elements, and in their souls. When Brian need backup to protect someone under his care, Wyheree stood by his side and defended his charge fiercely. When Wyheree provoked Natalia's wrath and the situation spun out of her control, Brian answered her call for help, and Jewell helped heal the damage that was done. Deep within her soul, Wyheree had long considered Brian and Jewell as her family - and now it was made official. Wyheree at last had a surname - a family name. She was theirs, and they were hers - Wyheree Ravenlock.
