He was waiting for her when she returned, his tail flicking irritably across his leg. She slammed the door behind her as she entered, barely tossing him a look as he sat in the chair by the window.

"You had to do it, didn't ya?" He accused.

"Do what?" she nearly spat back at him.

"You had to go knock a few heads, try and find a connection to him, a buyer." He stated as he rose from the chair. "You couldn't wait?"

"Wait? I've been waiting for a bloody two weeks!" she shouted as she stomped over in front of him. And he could tell from her anger that she hadn't had any luck.

"And you didn't get any information either? Did you? Dammit 'nella!" he shouted back, "this isn't going to work if all of RhyDin finds out you're trying to sell the thing!" They stared hard at each other for a moment before he continued, "Threats aren't always enough to keep a man quiet you know. Look at what happened to that keep at the Inn you found Bargos staying at? After all your threats, he still told Bargos you'd been there. You're going to have a hard enough time keeping your head out of a sling when this all goes down as it is!"

Their stare down continued for a few more moments. Yes, he was mad, madder than he had been at anyone for a long time - but not just for the reason he'd just given her. It's not that he didn't want to see Bargos dead, almost as much as she did, but damn if he was going to see her risk herself needlessly in the mean time.

"Let me do this..." He finally continued. "It's the best way to get the word out... and out to the right ears. There's weapons other than fear. Dangle enough gold and even the coward will take notice... and he won't want to share." He paused a moment, but not long enough to give her the chance to reply, before continuing. "I've got a meet set for tomorrow night, let's see what happens then, Ok?"

She continued to just stare at him, her expression unchanged from when she first came in the room. Then finally, she just nodded, turned on her heel and marched into the other room, shoving the door closed behind her.

He sighed to himself as he slumped back into the chair, staring at the closed door. "It's going to be a long night."

"Even the maggot can serve a purpose in the right circumstance... "
